Marble Painting

Bethany and Jonas went to town yesterday making these marble pictures. I think Bethany's the next Pollack!

Opening Ceremonies

We had an Olympics party at our house tonight. Bethany helped paint the Olympic mascots for our cake. That eventually turned into painting everything in sight. And then it became running through a puddle of finger paint on the porch to make footprints. But it was well worth the mess!! We enjoyed watching the opening show in Beijing - Go USA!!!!

Sandy Pictures

I picked up these sand art pictures in the dollar bin at Target. What a good investment! I put the sand in salt shakers, and the kids went right to work. Bethany was very proud of how it ended up!

String Art

Today we experimented with leftover latchhook yarn. Bethany has been very into gluing lately and dove right in.

Tissue Paper Fun

Bethany had fun with glue and tissue paper today. She was very pleased with the results!

Rainbow Cookies

The Crafty Crow had a post on rainbow cookies, and I thought they might be a hit with Bethany after our clay day. She loved it (especially the part where she finally got a cookie). She helped with every part of making them. All that practice of making snakes and ball shapes paid off!

Clay Colors

 

Now that I'm out of school (yay!), I've started putting the kids on a more structured schedule. And what kind of schedule wouldn't have a crafty time?? Today we worked on our colors while playing with molding clay. Bethany was really good at trying to imitate shapes I was making with the clay. I just love watching her little brain work!
