Memorial Day

After a busy weekend, Bethany was happy to be picnicking with Jonas again today. Friday night we saw Uncle Jim and Aunt Mary Jean up from Florida, as well as the Sirgey gang. Then Saturday Matt and I left for a wedding and Bethany had her first night away from me! She loved her sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa. Sunday we visited Cat and Erik up from NYC, and my friend Day. Yay! Then Monday the 3 of us bummed around town catching some rays. There's your rundown... Bethany's a busy girl!

New Taggie!

Bethany took her new taggie blanket for a spin today. Her grandma and I made her 2 new blankets last night, and she's already attached. We went to the zoo with Grandma and Great Grandma, and mimicked the sea lions barking. Bethany is getting really good at her animal noises! She went on the train for the first time too, and enjoyed it much more than the carousel.

Hot Days

Bethany has enjoyed her time in the pool these past few days. It's a nice chance to cool off after playing so hard. Of course, she doesn't stay in the pool long - not being able to stand is a huge drawback for her!

Zoo Grandma Style

Bethany went to the zoo with Grandma for the first time yesterday! She showed Grandma all the fun animals, and how to say "baa." Then Grandma introduced her to the merry-go-round. Bethany was anything but merry, and will probably will not be going on another ride anytime soon. It was totally worth the $1 ride to see her freak out though. Is that mean or what?

Bubbles

We spent the afternoon at Losson Park today. We walked the trails, had a picnic dinner, and had tons of fun chasing bubbles with the bubble machine Bethany got from Matthew! Bethany got so much exercise that she was in bed by 7:45. Not a bad day at all!

Bethany's Friends

Bethany made a new friend this weekend. Little Evalyn Grace! She was really into rocking her in the car seat! Matthew came over, too! He showed her how to use his new camera, and she showed him her cool bead chain. And, of course, Bethany got another kiss goodbye!

Surprise!

This past weekend we went to Columbus to celebrate Daddy's 25th birthday! We threw him a surprise party with a bunch of his old buddies. So much fun. (It got our mind off of other sad events of the weekend.) Bethany was a little shy meeting so many strangers at once, so she hung out with Grandma and Grandpa a lot. Check out all the fun new things at their house!

Packing and Unpacking

These two babies are such a fun distraction from packing for the weekend! Bethany's having fun unpacking what I've packed, and Jonas is quite entertained by her.

Oats

Tonight we had a dinner party with Aunt Sarah, Uncle Andy, Uncle Mike, Aunt Mary, and of course Jonas. Bethany took advantage of our lively board game by sneaking into the cupboard and grabbing herself a can of oats. Yummy!

Haircut

I cut Bethany's hair for the first time today (her second haircut). Yes, I finally gave in and decided that Bethany should probably be able to see again. So Bethany's sporting some serious little girl bangs! How cute!

Party Weekend

We've traveled all over this weekend. Friday we went to Delaware Park and the zoo, which I actually have pictures for. Saturday we had a baby shower for Cousins Greg and Tara, and graduation party for Bethany's old babysitter Beth (also a good friend of the family). Then today! Mother's day! We went to Great Grandma Sirgey's to visit the family, then out putt-putting and for ice-cream. What a day. And little Bethany made me a photo frame out of popsicle sticks. Very cute!

Swinging

Supergirl!

My sister has this really cool playground at the end of her street with 2 baby swings! Bethany, Jonas, and I headed there yesterday and had a blast. It was so much different than last year! Bethany pretended she was flying and had her arms spread out above her head a lot of the time. She's a brave girl and loved it when I got the swing going high.

Splashing

Water Baby

Bethany and Jonas went swimming yesterday afternoon to cool off. They both love hanging out in the water and splashing around, especially Jonas! Bethany made several attempts to empty the water by pushing down the side of the pool, but she was never successful. She's such a little water baby.

Sandy!

Bethany has her cousin over for the day, and is catching lots of rays! We went to the park this morning to walk the trails and then watch the ducks on the pond, and now we're just coming in from a nice early afternoon on the patio. I am loving the smell of sunscreen right now! Summer's here!

Head Banging

This is perhaps the last in the high chair series. Bethany thinks she is oh-so-funny.

Fishie

For some reason Bethany really loves this little fishie that she got for Cinco de Mayo. She's been walking around with it in her mouth all morning!

Feeding Myself

Bethany has been refusing to eat her baby food for the past week or so. It finally occurred to me this morning to put the bowl of food in front of her and see what she did. Sure enough, Bethany's all about feeding herself! Bibs are officially back in style.

Strolling

Bethany loves being outside. Yesterday we went out with Jonas and walked the entire zoo again. Bethany was a very good cousin and constantly checked on Jonas in the stroller to make sure he was ok. While we were there the elephants were getting their pictures taken with Sabres flags, which was really cool! Go Sabres!!
