Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Thursday
Wednesday night there was a very windy thunderstorm. So windy that our screenroom started blowing away! The stakes came right out of the ground! Poor Daddy and Mommy had to go out in the storm with the flashlight and take it down so that they didn't lose it. Bethany and I slept through it all. Because it was so gross out, Thurday was tent day!

Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Wednesday
Daddy and Mommy weren't quite convinced about the ridiculous amount of bugs, so we tried hiking again on Wednesday. As you can probably guess, way too buggy. Didn't bother me too much though!
In the afternoon, we went mini golfing at this really rinky dink course. Bethany got a free club and ball, which was nice because she turned Daddy's and Mommy's games into a game of fetch. Of course, Mommy probably preferred that over having to keep score and see Daddy whip her butt. After we were done playing, we got ice cream! Yummy!!
Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Tuesday Night
All the sun got us ready for some relaxing by the fire Tuesday night. Unlike the day before, we were able to start it without our neighbors help. You would think that with my Mommy having camped every year of her life they'd be better at building fires! Bethany tried a marshmallow, but didn't see the appeal. Too sticky, she said!
Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Tuesday
We started our day on Tuesday with a little hiking. No one told me how buggy hiking can be!! I almost got eaten alive!
Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Monday
Our 2nd camping trip of the season began last Monday. We letterboxed our way to Rondeau Provincial Park. I was very thankful for the stops! When we got there, I watched the rest of the family set up camp. Then they all joined me lazing around for the rest of the day. That's what camping's all about.

Camping Misadventures, Episode 1 Part 4
Camping Misadventures, Episode 1 Part 3
Saturday afternoon we had a huge thunderstorm! We ended up in the tent for over 2 hours, and watched a movie on A.Mary's little dvd player. When we were brave enough to go outside we saw a huge puddle all around our fire pit. It didn't take long for us to realize our nice chicken dinner wasn't going to happen. I didn't mind - I can't eat the stuff anyway.
Camping Misadventures, Episode 1 Part 2
Saturday morning we decided to hike the Gorge Trail. My mom and dad forgot to bring my backpack! They still braved taking me though, and I got to be nice and cradled the entire time.
Bethany hung out with Jonas a lot, and they walked almost the whole way! I was a little jealous, but then decided I was plenty comfy where I was.

My crazy family decided to take all us kids camping to Watkins Glen for the weekend. Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary were there, and so were Aunt Sarah and Jonas. Poor Mommy and A.Sarah had to set up 3 tents all by themselves in the rain! They looked pretty funny running around like maniacs, and as soon as they finished it stopped raining. But my sister, Bethany, still thought it was pretty impressive, and we got right down to some serious camping.

Roberts Getaway
Some background for this post: I hung out with the same 5 girls all through college. Four years later, we decided to have a reunion-type weekend. So, off on another camping adventure we went! We had hardly any rain, which was wonderful, and Bethany had fun with her friends.
She was a little uneasy around the "big" kids, so I didn't get a picture of her with Jaycelyn, and this is the only one I got of her with Brenin. Much different than last year when she didn't care at all.
However, she loved Layla! Probably because she's not too unlike Jonas.
Bethany helped us pack up Sunday morning for the ride home.

Happy Camper
This weekend was spent at Green Lakes State Park with friends! It was Bethany's first time out for the season, so we were a bit nervous. Thankfully, she loved being outside all day, and didn't fight sleeping for too long. The tent was a big hit. She cried every time we tried to zip it up. The beach was also a huge success, with Bethany ending the afternoon completely covered in sand after me burying her up to her waist. Too bad I forgot my camera!
