Who would've thought we'd end up with three beautiful girls? We're enjoying watching them learn and grow, and we love showing them off almost as much! Stay tuned, because our life moves fast!

Squash
Today started the making of homemade baby food! I got a squash from the grocery store, pureed it, and divided it into ice cubes for Rebekah. She had her first cube tonight and did all right. I wouldn't say she loved it, but she definitely wasn't opposed to it. On an unrelated note, she also discovered her feet today!
Marble Painting
Bethany and Jonas went to town yesterday making these marble pictures. I think Bethany's the next Pollack!

(Mostly) Diaper Free!
No pictures, but I just have to brag about my little girl. Since the first time she went in the potty on Thursday night, she's only had 4 accidents. And 2 of them were right in front of the toilet - she just couldn't pull her pants down fast enough. I know that's probably not too exciting, but it really is to me. She is so darn cute in her little underwear, and so proud! We're down to only one baby in our household!

Lots of fun new developments this week in our household. Rebekah, who's now up to 13 pounds 9 ounces, started rice cereal. Man, can she down that stuff fast. I can tell we're pretty quickly going to move to a couple meals a day!
Stubborn Miss Bethany finally peed in the potty. All those countless books in the bathroom finally paid off! Yesterday we went and bought her big girl underwear (a last resort). We told her she was a big girl now and from now on had to go potty like Mommy. It took a couple accidents, but she gave in before bed last night. And then went again first thing this morning. Of course, we're back to accidents today, but we'll get there. Thanks, Mike, for the great idea! Looks like it's going to work!

A Glimpse of the Future
Bethany loves to talk on the phone to "Gramma and Papa Jon". (I think she thinks "Jon" is their last name.) Here's her wandering around the living room today filling Grandma Miriam in on her day.
Crohn's Walk
We finally had our Crohn's Walk yesterday. A big thank you to all who generously sponsored us - we raised over $800! Bethany enjoyed the walk, and we came in dead last! Thankfully, there wasn't a time limit! After the walk, we took advantage of our free admission to the zoo to see the new rain forest exhibit. Fun!
Aunt Sarah's Birthday
On Friday, we celebrated A.Sarah's birthday. Look at her awesome Dr. Mario cake. No one can beat Sarah at Dr. Mario - except maybe the other women in our family!
"10" Days of Cleaning
A couple weeks ago, I started my 10 days of thoroughly cleaning our apartment. I'm on day 4. Funny how much kids can slow you down - especially when they're being ridiculously cute playing in the boxes you're supposed to be using for organizing. Bethany was also having fun putting her headband on Bekah. Tell me it doesn't make her look gorgeous!
Baby Burrito
The hospital recommends wrapping your baby up like this to sleep. Bethany usually hated it, and kicked out of it immediately. Rebekah, on the other hand, can't sleep without it. This blanket is a lifesaver.

Memories
I've told you about the memory books I keep for my girls, right? We want you to be a part of it! Leave a comment for either Bethany or Rebekah, and get original Lafferty artwork. Say anything you want - memories, advice, "hi, how are you?" - it really doesn't matter! And within 2 weeks, a surprise will be in your mailbox! Just make sure I have a way to get in touch with you if I don't already know your address.
Beaver Island
Pool Party
We attempted swimming again Sunday evening while visiting A.Marie and U.Larry. Rebekah had pretty much the same reaction, but ended up braving the water to be with Papa. Bethany insisted on spending most of her time in the water in the crab, and Bekah tried out the pool bar.
Crystal Beach
On Sunday we headed to Crystal beach for a day in the sun. Bethany eventually warmed up to the water enough to play with Uncle Mike and Aunt Sarah, but Rebekah cried the instant she hit the water. She'd rather just relax back on the sand.
