Christmas Train

The kids love the Christmas train. It's a wonder it hasn't been broken yet!

Ready for Christmas

This tree took a lot of doing to put up! Once we finally located our tree (in my parents' garage), we opened the box, only to discover that somehow the entire base of our tree was missing. So, Matthew headed off to the store and bought us a new one. Then we went to put up the lights, and only 1 of our 3 strands worked. Off I went to the store to buy us new lights. Finally, we got to the ornaments! All the expense was worth it though, look how much fun we had!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love the Laff girls!

Wildlights

Our first Christmas activity of the year was going to see the Columbus Zoo Wildlights with the Jones boys. They were so impressive!! Rebekah loved going around pointing at them all, and hanging out with her Godfather. Bethany wasn't happy until we got to see some elephants!

Bowling

Bethany went bowling for the first time over Thanksgiving week. She really enjoyed "catching" the balls when they came up, seeing the numbers pop up on the screen, and pushing the reset button. Bowling, however, she could take or leave.

Quote of the Day

Mommy: (to Daddy) We really need to start watching what we're spending.
Bethany: You can just go to work and get more money. (She pauses while we laugh.) When you run out, I mean.

Can you tell that she's the daughter of an accountant? She has so much financial sense already!

Silliness

Hello, Mr. Turkey

Bethany learned this song in Preschool. She was serenading us for quite a bit of our trip home from Columbus yesterday. I loved it!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

We celebrated Grandma's birthday with a fantastic dinner and yummy ice cream cake. And a very funny Bekah story I just have to share.

We gave both the girls a little sliver of cake. Bekah wolfed hers down. Bethany, on the other hand, ate half, and then walked away to do something else for a minute. So, Rebekah grabbed Bethany's bowl, put her cake and her own bowl, and then put Bethany's bowl back. Bethany came back and got upset that her cake was gone, so Rebekah ever so nicely gave her half of her cake back.

Did you know that Rebekah means devious?

Ariel and her Sister

Bet you never would've guessed that Bethany was Ariel for Halloween this year. We got Rebekah the same costume, but Bethany insisted that she's "Ariel's sister." Bekah was not a fan of being a mermaid. Bethany, of course, LOVED it.

Pumpkin Carving

My girls actually got into the goop pumpkin carving this year! They had a blast, but strangely enough, we never took a picture of the final product.
