Hanging out with Mommy!

Bethany had fun at the park with Mommy today!

Camping Misadventures, Episode 3, Day 3

Sunday morning we woke up earlier than everyone else, and went to the Marblehead Lighthouse. It was super pretty looking out across the lake, and we had fun walking on all the rocks.

Mommy made a treasure hunt for the group, and while they were trying to solve the clues to find the treasure, Bethany called Grandma Miriam to talk. I can't wait until I'm big enough to use the phone.
We went for a long hike to get the treasure and came up emptyhanded. Treasures can be like that. So we treated ourselves to ice cream instead. No one shared with me. :(
After ice cream we tried our hand at putt-putt. The last couple of holes, everyone went at the same time - I liked watching all the balls roll around everywhere! Then it was time to go home... until our next trip!

Camping Misadventures, Episode 3, Day 2

Saturday we were with everyone again. Well, kind of... all the big people were going to try out the jet skis. Instead, A.Kim and A.Paula got stranded way out on Lake Erie with a broken jet ski!! Some nice fishermen had to rescue them. On the bright side, I got to ride on a swing for the first time.
After the jet ski was abandoned, we all met up at the beach. I loved relaxing with A.Kim, and even tried my hand at Bethany's "longhorns." I think I could get used to that!

Bethany, on the other hand, spent most of her time in the water. It was nice and shallow and warm, kind of like a big bath! All the uncles and Daddy had fun entertaining her.

Camping Misadventures, Episode 3, Day 1

Camping Misadventures, Episode 3
By Rebekah Lafferty

Daddy and Mommy took us to Marblehead, Ohio for the weekend! We went to see U.Pete and A.Kim, U.Andrew, and U.Andy and A.Paula. Grandma Miriam came up Friday to hang out with Bethany, and I got to go to Cedar Point with everyone else! Cedar Point definitely didn't expect me to be coming... I wasn't allowed in the lines for rides at all. So Daddy and Mommy waited with me one ride, then U.Andy and U.Pete another ride. After lunch, I got to go back to the trailer to be with Grandma and Bethany. That was lots of fun, except for the yucky formula. We even got to go to the beach - way better than walking around on cement all day!

Memory Books

Bethany and Rebekah have memory books (just notebooks) that they will receive when they're older. Each book has notes from friends and family remembering events, sending love, and giving the girls encouragement. I see it evolving into something they can also sometimes use - to journal, interview grandparents - who knows! Do you want to let the girls know you love them, or have a memory you'd like to share? Click on the link below to post a comment and tell them! I'll put it in their memory book, which will hopefully be a keepsake for them their whole lives.

Silly Smiles

Nothing brightens your day like a grin from Rebekah!

Sandy Pictures

I picked up these sand art pictures in the dollar bin at Target. What a good investment! I put the sand in salt shakers, and the kids went right to work. Bethany was very proud of how it ended up!

Rebekah Update

Rebekah had a doctor visit last Thursday. She's 11 pounds, 11 ounces, and 25 inches long!! She's a full pound bigger than Bethany was at this age, which I love because Bethany never had those chubby baby cheeks! Dr. Darlene cracked up with Bethany referred to Bekah as "BekahBekahBekahBekah." What a goofball she is.

Since then, Rebekah's rolled over twice, with only a little help from the couch cushion. What a strong girl.

We had a lot of fun this weekend in Geneva, OH. I forgot my camera though!! I'll have to give my mother-in-law a blogger lesson so you can see some pictures.

So Tired!

I caught this cute picture while I was taking random pictures of Bekah. How adorable is that little girl?!?

Cazenovia

We had a great time at Caz Park this evening. It has quite the playground, and we got to walk over this suspension bridge designed by Frederick Olmsted. How cool is that?

Mike's House

Yesterday we went over to Uncle Mike's to "help" him with everything he needs to do to get his house ready to live in. I peeled some wallpaper in the bathroom. The kids broke down all the styrofoam packaging into tiny itty bitty little pieces. They're thoughtful that way. Then we relaxed some and checked out the playground down the street. U.Mike and A.Mary's house is going to be quite the hangout!

The Joneses

We had so much fun playing with the Joneses all weekend (in between wedding commitments). I think Bethers developed a crush on Matthew... she's going for the older boys!

Dedication!

My beautiful Rebekah was dedicated on Sunday! The dress she's wearing was her A.Sarah's when she was baptized. My grandma made it for her. It's also the dress that Bethany wore to her A.Sarah's wedding. It's sure getting a lot of use!
This is one of Bekah's Godfathers, faker Uncle Mike. Matthew's cousin, Andrew, is also her Godfather, but couldn't make it. It's hard getting off weekends when you're a church worker!

Reception

Bethany (Sr.) had fun chairs and coloring books waiting for Bethany and Jonas when we got to reception. What a good idea! They entertained Bethany for quite some time.
During dinner, Bethany took advantage of the empty dance floor to get some dancing in. We had fun twirling in circles! It's a good thing, too, because once everyone else started dancing she wanted nothing to do with it.
And, yes, Rebekah was there. She's kind of quiet, you know.

Wedding!

And, not so much. We started out the day getting ready with the bridesmaids. Bethany handled it all pretty well. (Although it took Grandma to actually get her hair up!) I should have known that those fingers, a sure signal of tiredness, would be a sign of trouble.
Poor Aunt Sarah has to carry both toddlers down the aisle, one on each hip! Then, as soon as she put them down with Grandpa and Grandma, they both burst into tears. Jonas because his mommy left him, and Bethany because I was about to take Jonas into the crying room. So, the three of us spent the entire ceremony in the crying room. I heard it was a beautiful wedding! (And they sure look great!)

When it was all said and done, Bethany practiced going up and down the aisle again. Figures. Maybe we'll have better luck next time.

Rehearsal

Could Bethany be proving me wrong? Look at them walking down the aisle so nice...

Wedding Season

We're beginning wedding season with 2 completed wedding taggies! Bethany and Jonas practiced walking down the aisle today. I can't show a picture of that. I'll keep the suspense until after the wedding! But I will say that Beth's wedding is sure going to be interesting on Saturday...

Cousins!

An evening at the park, and our first very cute cousin picture!

Back to Normalcy?

We're enjoying being back from vacation. Bethany was super excited to have her best friend back. We went to meet A.Sarah and Jonas for lunch on Monday, and Bethany gave Jonas a good 30 second hug as soon as she saw him. It's hard being apart!
Rebekah got to meet her cousin, Heather, on Monday, too. Poor Heather got poop all over her! Bekah has such weird ways of showing love...

Bridgeport

We really enjoyed our trip in Michigan. We got to see U.Bruce and AUNT Marcy, who are our new favorite newlyweds! (Ok, G.Faye and G.Richard, too. So many weddings!) We also got to take advantage of the hotel's pool.
Tuesday is A.Marcy's birthday, so we celebrated with some cake.
Both Bethany and Bekah got in some quality time with their G.Grandma. G.Grandpa had fun teasing the girls too, but we somehow missed the Kodak moments there... maybe partially due to the camera missing in action for a good part of Sunday!

Independence Day!

After our trip to Rondeau, we headed farther west to Bridgeport to visit Matthew's grandparents. We took the girls to see fireworks. Bethany was pretty much uninterested, but loved jumping on everyone and at the same time saying "sorry!"

Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Thursday

Wednesday night there was a very windy thunderstorm. So windy that our screenroom started blowing away! The stakes came right out of the ground! Poor Daddy and Mommy had to go out in the storm with the flashlight and take it down so that they didn't lose it. Bethany and I slept through it all. Because it was so gross out, Thurday was tent day!
Before we left, we did get to take a walk along Rondeau Bay, and get ice cream (again). And we got to enjoy one last campfire!

Camping Misadventures, Episode 2, Wednesday

Daddy and Mommy weren't quite convinced about the ridiculous amount of bugs, so we tried hiking again on Wednesday. As you can probably guess, way too buggy. Didn't bother me too much though!
I got everyone all excited with all the smiling I did. I love camping!
In the afternoon, we went mini golfing at this really rinky dink course. Bethany got a free club and ball, which was nice because she turned Daddy's and Mommy's games into a game of fetch. Of course, Mommy probably preferred that over having to keep score and see Daddy whip her butt. After we were done playing, we got ice cream! Yummy!!
