Last Day of Christmas

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with my family. Bethany was much healthier, so had tons of fun opening presents! Her grandpa and grandma gave her a fun toy to put on her high chair, and this really cute dress, which she really liked, despite the look on her face.
Uncle Mike drew Bethany's name in the exchange, and got her musical toys! They were playing music the whole way home in the car!

Sleep the Day Away

When you're feeling sick, suddenly you can sleep anywhere anytime. Bethany has fallen asleep in some very cute positions lately.

Brown Christmas

Tuesday and Wednesday were spent with the Brown family. Bethany quickly became attached to her cousin Madeline, and cracked up every time she played with her.I have to admit I was really looking forward to putting up the latest Bethany and Ailey pictures. But, because my baby girl was so sick, they didn't really get too close to one another. So I'll have to settle for a Dawn and Ailey picture!
Evann provided both entertainment and amazement for Bethany. You can tell Bethany wants to be just like her some day!
Sorry, that's it in pictures for that get together. By the end of Wednesday both Bethany and I were exhausted, although today Bethany seems to be catching up on sleep and hopefully finally getting well again!

Green Christmas

Christmas morning began with a long running Sirgey tradition - a picture at the top of the stairs!I think this is the longest I've ever spent opening presents. Bethany took her time helping to unwrap and inspect all of her presents. She got a lot of cool things, including her own cell phone, fun toy shelves (although that may be more fun for her mom!), and blocks that do all kinds of crazy things.
She also got "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and her own Max stuffed animal!
Finally, her one good present from her mom and dad - a build and spill musical turtle. She loved it!

Pre Christmas

The Saturday before Christmas we were in Columbus, and celebrated with the Laffertys. Bethany got to see all the Coshocton Laffertys, except for poor Michael who was home recovering from knee surgery. Her favorite present of the day was this red bow.
Although she did enjoy this Noah's Ark book, especially the finger puppet animals that came with it!!
What a very fun day kicking off the Christmas family get togethers!

Christmas Eve poor Bethany started a pretty bad cold. Despite the stuffy nose and lack of energy, we went to a great Christmas church service, and opened a bunch of family presents so that Grandpa could join in the fun (He had to work Christmas morning). Most of Bethany's presents were saved for the next morning, since she was very tired. But, needless to say, Grandpa and Grandma were very generous!

All the present excitement seriously wore Bethany out, so she cuddled with her daddy in her new slippers from Uncle Joe and Aunt Sherry.
Then she grabbed her candy cane balloon, and headed to bed... tomorrow's Christmas!

Kringle Kafe

Tonight we went to visit "Christmasville" with Sarah, Jonas and my mom and dad. We had fun looking at all the animated Christmas windows... and Bethany heard "Twas The Night Before Christmas" for the first time. She also met Mrs. Claus, whom she enjoyed a lot more than her husband, and a nice man in the cafe made her a candy cane balloon. She thought it was great, and had a hard time keeping it out of her mouth! PS. I just thought I'd put this picture up because I think it's cute. Whenever we're out and Bethany's jealous that she's not sharing your food, just letting her chew on the straw is guaranteed to turn her into a happy girl again. I don't know what we're going to do when she learns how to work a straw!

Decorating

In the span of time I couldn't find my camera we decorated the tree at my parent's house. Bethany loved the ornaments!!!Then, yesterday, we went and got Bethany's picture taken with Santa Claus at the Knights of Columbus. She was a little scared of him - but I can't blame her, having once been terrified of him myself. The rest of the weekend was spent with friends in Rochester. Bethany met a new friend, Layla! I'm hoping they'll be able to be friends just like their moms!Right now, Bethany's completely zonked out, making up for the lack of sleep last night. She spent last night at Josh and Crystal's, and ended up between Matt and I in bed pulling my hair all night. (She kept standing in the playpen and then crying because she couldn't get herself back down.) So we didn't get much sleep!

Finally Able to Blog!

The camera has been found - it was in my sister's couch cushions. So, as promised, here are the really cute pictures of Bethany and Jonas hanging out on Tuesday. I just love it!

Tooth!

I can't find my camera, so no picture... although I have really cute ones coming of the two cousins once I find it. I just noticed this morning that I never told you Bethany's tooth news! We noticed a little white coming through on her bottom gum at some point the last couple weeks, and this past Saturday U.Mike felt a sharp little tooth! Bethany has her first tooth! How cool is that?

Christmas Preview

Yesterday we tried on Bethany's Christmas dress! Doesn't she look ridiculously cute in it? I can't wait until Christmas!!!

Right now Bethany's in the living room, by herself, standing holding on to one of the couch arms. She is getting so big, and she's definitely not afraid of a few falls.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Bethany has been braving the cold pretty well. She's getting a little bit of a chapped chin, but nothing we can't handle. She's spent the past couple of days hanging out with Jonas doing Christmas shopping. What fun! And she's climbing every couch in sight. We just need to work on learning how to sit back down!

Yesterday Bethany and I had a lot of fun playing in A.Sarah's laundry basket. She pulls herself up on everything already, and since she has no idea how to get down, we thought the basket would offer a nice confined place in which for her to play. Worked like a charm!
And my baby girl greets me every morning now just like this picture! She's hungry there, so no smiles were offered. Reasonable enough, I suppose.

Valley Girl

No crawling... it's so sad. I'll have it eventually though, I promise. In the meantime, here's my little stinker getting into all her grandparents' food. She's starting early! I had to put the car seat picture up, too. I just love her hands in that picture.

Crawling!!!

Guess what! Bethany's crawling!!! She's been doing the army-crawl for a while, and yesterday she finally got up on all fours and stayed there! And she crawled! I'm so excited.

And while I was still reeling over that, she pulled herself up on a filing box and stood. Honest to goodness, my baby's growing up. No pictures yet. I hope to post a video this afternoon...

Jesus loves Jonas...

Before I get to the main event of the day, a quick update. Bethany's teething! Tooth number 1 was spotted Thursday night on her bottom gum. She's handling it like a champ - no real complaining.

Friday we took Bethany to a friend's house to watch a movie. While playing under the coffee table, she somehow managed to smash her head on one of the legs before I could react. I know, everyone who was there freaked out, too. Except Bethany, that is, who cracked up. That's my girl.

Other than that, the days have been filled with homework and quilting. The quilt for Jonas was finished as of 11:00 last night, and he got it this morning! Why this morning? Because my adorable little nephew was baptized!! Matthew and I get to be his Godparents, and we are oh-so-excited. Bethany, the adorable Godcousin, is also excited. She gets quite the kick out of Jonas. Not too sure what Jonas thinks of her yet, though...
