Randomness

Here are a couple random pictures from the past week. Bethany is such a crazy little girl.

Cow Girl

This is a little fuzzy, but I had to post it. I think Bethany's going to be a model when she grows up.

Peek-a-Boo

I see you!

Happy Camper

This weekend was spent at Green Lakes State Park with friends! It was Bethany's first time out for the season, so we were a bit nervous. Thankfully, she loved being outside all day, and didn't fight sleeping for too long. The tent was a big hit. She cried every time we tried to zip it up. The beach was also a huge success, with Bethany ending the afternoon completely covered in sand after me burying her up to her waist. Too bad I forgot my camera!

Terrific Tuesday

We took a gamble this afternoon and got some swim time in before the thunderstorm. Bethany felt a bit braver in the pool today, especially with a nice firm board to float around on! She's not quite as into the water as Jonas is, but she's getting there! We got home in time to cook up a nice supper for Daddy. Bethany is such a good little helper, and a lot more cautious than you would expect for someone who doesn't understand stoves yet.

Weekend Memories

Happy 70th, Great Grandma Faye! The weekend celebrating in Coshocton was packed full of memories. Here are a few of my favorites:
  • After arriving at G.G.Faye's late Friday night, Bethany got a pretty good cut on her forehead. (That's what happens when you're rough housing so late at night!) Thankfully, it looks like it's going to heal nicely, although she was wearing a butterfly bandaid for the rest of the trip.
  • Bethany met a lot of her family for the first time! We love being able to see out-of-state relatives, especially on happy occasions like a birthday.
  • Going out onto the patio was tricky, but Bethany practiced and practiced until she could do it with no hands.
  • Encouraged, Bethany tried to tackle the stairs. She's pretty fearless, so we're going to have to watch her!
  • The family was very into playing cornhole this weekend, so Grandma Miriam taught Bethany how to put the bean bag in the hole. Bethany showed Grandma that it was much easier just to slip the bean bag underneath the board.
  • We had a very nice dinner at Serenity Tea House to officially honor G.G.Faye. Bethany was a very big girl and carried around her grandma's purse.
  • Sunday, we went to U.Tom and A.Linda's for a little pool party. Bethany loves beach toys, especially the torpedo and beach ball, but wasn't a big fan of being in such a big pool.

Faker Knight

Last Thursday we all pretended we were Catholic and crashed a Knights of Columbus steak dinner picnic. Bethany got to see some of the Herdlein gang, and went down the slide like a big girl. Although most of the time was spent being a Grandpa's girl. Go figure.

Bethany in Pictures

Matthew and I made this fun video for our loved ones on Father's Day. Thought you might enjoy a peak.

Mid-Week Update

Bethany, Aunt Sarah and I visited the nursery this week and picked out lots of plants. Bethany and I got a triumphans spirea, whatever that is. I guess we'll find out! She helped me repot it and got dirty, which is always fun. (Check out how she's holding A. Sarah's hand in this picture!! There's a first time for everything.) Bethany and Jonas's adventures included another bath time and fun in the sandbox. And of course walks outside and playing in the backyard.

Fun with Eating

Some of my favorite times with Bethany are when she's eating. So, enjoy my favorite moments from last weekend!

Allentown

Today we went to the Allentown Art Festival. So much fun! We checked out some of the architecture, too, giving Bethany a chance to walk around and get away from the crowds. The picture below is of the Cornell Mansion, built in 1894. (Andy C., you'd really appreciate this part of Buffalo!) We need to explore here again after the festival is over.

Bethany says "Hi!"

Bethany says "hi!" to you all! (I just know I'm really going to miss this one day...)

Backyard

Bethany and Jonas spent their lovely Friday afternoon in the backyard! (Which is where we end up when the babies don't keep themselves on the same schedule. Thankfully, that's pretty rare.) Bethany was all over the place, and managed to get a good amount of grass on our blanket. She's finally brave enough to walk the backyard barefoot, but usually prefers to stay and play with Jonas.

Uncle Mike's Draggin' Birthday

Aunt Sarah and I made Uncle Mike a dragon birthday cake Thursday - which was quite appropriate since his birthday was over a week ago! We had lots of fun celebrating, and Bethany enjoyed eating one of the dragon's scales. Meaning, she had her first graham cracker. Yummy!

Trip to Great Grandma's!

Yesterday Bethany went to Great Grandma's for lunch. She had tons of fun playing with all the cool bottles Great Gram saved for her!

Major Leagues

We rounded up our weekend of baseball with a day trip to Cleveland to see an Indians game. First Major League game for both Bethany and me. The rain held out until the bottom of the ninth, and Bethany had a much better time than I was able to capture on film.

Engagement

Big news! Bethany's getting a new aunt!! Uncle Mike proposed to Mary tonight. And the family got to witness it and enjoy a Bisons game! If you want the whole scoop, you'll have to ask them.

Randomness

This week in random pictures:
Bethany really enjoyed the peacock that wanders around Buffalo Zoo. Check that weird bird out!
Also, she's already turning into a little girl and loves lugging around Aunt Sarah's purse! (And sitting on it for an occasional break.)

Minor Flashback

This is such a cute picture. Mike and Mary took her to the mall - this is her coming out of the changing room. What an adorable little smirk.
