I can do it Myself!

Bethany is all about feeding herself. Almost every feeding she's grabbing the bottle/spoon and making sure I'm not taking it out of her mouth. When I do pry the object out of her hand, she FREAKS out! She is not a fan of burping, and definitely doesn't understand that I need to reload the spoon. You'd think we're starving the girl!

Jiggity Jig

Home again!

Locked Out

There is not a picture for today. Why, you ask? Because my family and I are sitting at my parents house, by ourselves, wishing we knew what my parents did with the spare set of keys to our apartment. Yes, that's right, I managed to get us locked out again. So there you go, it's 10:00, we tired and frustrated, and may end up having a sleepover. Probably won't look good going out tomorrow in the same clothes...

Pretzel Time

Blogger wasn't up for uploading pictures yesterday, hence the ridiculous amount of time between posts. Don't worry, I already got grief from my mom. So here you go - Beth's new favorite position.

Rice Cereal

Little Bethany had rice cereal for the first time tonight! She handled the spoon like a pro! Check it out.

All Dressed Up

Bethany is so cute in this outfit. I can't wait until it fits her just right. She's officially in 3-6 months clothes now - Matt and I switched her wardrobe over yesterday. Now I have a whole new wardrobe to play with!

Chew on This

Bethany spent the day at the Marriott for her last day of school orientation. I was thinking about how kids learn the most between the ages of 0-5, and wondered if all her time spent at UB this next 2 years is going to increase her intelligence. That would be an awesome side effect to having to drag her to all my group meetings!

My 2 Favorite People

Bethany has had so many new developments this week. Little Brenin taught her how to grab her feet this past weekend, and now her big toe is her new favorite thing to suck. She's starting bottle feeding this week, and taking it like a champ. She even lets her mommy feed her still, and tries to help. Granted, her helping usually results in a couple thumbs in her mouth with the nipple, but still. And, to top it all off, she's UB's youngest MBA student! She's gone to every day of orientation, gotten lots of attention, and loved every minute of it. That's my girl!

Enfield, Connecticut

Bethany celebrated her 4 month birthday in Connecticut! We spent a long weekend visiting my roomie from college, Kara, and her awesome family. It was the first time I met her kids, and the first they saw of little Bethany. We had so much fun! Bethany went to the zoo for the first time... she didn't care about many of the animals, but she loved walking around and all the attention she was getting. Little Jaycelyn gave her plenty of love! (I have so many good pictures of this weekend... so I'm going to spend a whole week showing them to you. It'll be a good break for me; I start my school orientation this week.)

Long Tall Sally

My little baby weighs 12 pounds, 10 ounces! Which seems like a lot to me, but apparently she's under the 50th percentile. All her activity keeps her slim. Plus, she's long!!! She's in the 75th percentile in height. She doesn't get that from my genes, tell you that!

Cry Baby

I apologize for the lack of a post yesterday. This is how Bethany was - all day. That is, until she went to her daddy's work and saw him. Then she was all smiles, and even gave a few good laughs. What a daddy's girl.

Tummy Time

What a strong girl I have! I can't believe how sturdy she's getting!

Geneva III

Ok, we weren't actually in Geneva, but we were close. We spent the weekend with Mom and Dad Lafferty. Although the hotel had an amazing pool setup, Bethany didn't go swimming for too long (the water was a bit too cold for her!) Her mom and dad enjoyed lots of swimming time while she got quality time with her grandparents. Bethany had lots of fun Sunday at Chardon Square. There was a live band, classic cars, and ice cream! And she had her Grandpa Jon to keep her moving. Fun stuff.Friday night Bethany rolled over in front of people for the first time - Matt, Mom and Dad. Where was I? I had to go to the bathroom. Bethany is quite the rebel waiting for me to leave the room! But when I got back, she rolled back onto her back!!! Granted, she hasn't done that again yet, but she's been rolling on her tummy all over the place ever since! (Then we have to roll her back over when she gets upset... )Bethany's Great Aunt Lois made her the quilt in this picture. Pretty cute, huh? She loves it!

Eye Boogers

Beth can be so gross sometimes! Today, I walked away from her for 2 seconds, came back, and she had somehow managed to spit up and get it in her EYE. How on earth do you spit in your own eye? So I did the only immediate solution I could think of - I took her to the kitchen and sprayed her in the face with my sink hose. Needless to say, she was not very appreciative. It got the job done though.

On a side note, when I went in her room to get her up this morning, she was on her stomach. What the heck is she doing rolling over without me there to see?? I'm saying the crib helped her and not counting it as official. It's not official until I'm there!

Sneezy

Now that I got the video upload figured out, I thought I'd visit one of my all-time favorite videos of Bethany. Enjoy!

Dance to the Music

These days Bethany and I are working on rolling over. She's so close I can taste it. If it wasn't for that stupid bottom arm I know she'd be doing it.Yesterday was pretty eventful. Bethany's great grandma Thompson came over to visit. We had a good talk, and Beth got some loving! Then we all went out for a wonderful evening as a family. We had a picnic dinner in Losson Park, a yummy ice cream sundae at Antoinette's, and saw some of a band concert in West Seneca's town hall. Beth and I had fun dancing to the music! Overall, yesterday was a GREAT day.

Green Lakes Camping

I love camping. The week was filled with bocce ball, frisbee golf, swimming, hiking, games, campfires, and A LOT of eating. How much better can you get? Bethany packed in a lot of firsts: first time picking her nose (unintentionally), first boo-boo (2 actually, a scratch on her arm and a cut baby toe), first time in a tent, first time meeting Uncle Andy and Aunt Paula, first time on a boat (the Maid of the Mist), and her first hiking trip. Not bad... she's getting to be a pro at new things!

Green Lakes Hiking

Green Lake is the most beautiful lake ever. I can't believe how green it is! We took the stroller for a spin around the two lakes (a nice 3 mile walk), and definitely appreciated the surroundings. Bethany was very impressed with how the sun came through the tops of the trees, and was sitting pretty comfortably in the cool shade. Uncle Pete and Aunt Kim took over pushing for a good bit of the trip, and Mom and Dad got some quality time. Very nice!

Watkins Glen

The first few days of camping were spent at Sampson State Park. Sampson State Park is horrible. So horrible that we decided to drive an hour to Watkins Glen rather than waste our time trying to find something fun to do where we were. Good choice. We hiked a good 2 miles in 1,000 degree weather, and enjoyed every minute of it. Beautiful stuff. Bethany was having a good time being back-packed by her dad and Uncle Andy. (Beats having to walk!) If you want to go to a park on Seneca Lake, don't go to Sampson, go Watkins!

Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake was an awesome place to visit. They have a cute little park that came in very handy - it was hot! Bethany and I spent a good amount of time at the waterhole, and she really enjoyed being able to sit in the pool. Overall, a nice relaxing day before heading out to CNY... loved it!

Niagara Falls

Sometimes I forget the power of the falls. And boy did the Maid of the Mist remind me! I could not believe how soaked I was by the time I got off that boat. Thankfully, Matthew was with it enough to head toward the middle of the boat to protect our little Bethany. It made it a much more enjoyable experience for her. We trekked the complete circumference of the falls, including Goat Island and the entire Canadian side. What a great way to start off the vacation! We ended the day chatting up a storm with Andy, Paula, Pete and Kim. It is so nice to spend such quality time with them. And they definitely loved being able to see Beth!

Vacation

Ok, we're officially on vacation, so no pictures until next week! Sorry, I tried to give you a preview, but blogger wasn't uploading pictures this morning. See you Monday.
