Christmas Train

The kids love the Christmas train. It's a wonder it hasn't been broken yet!

Ready for Christmas

This tree took a lot of doing to put up! Once we finally located our tree (in my parents' garage), we opened the box, only to discover that somehow the entire base of our tree was missing. So, Matthew headed off to the store and bought us a new one. Then we went to put up the lights, and only 1 of our 3 strands worked. Off I went to the store to buy us new lights. Finally, we got to the ornaments! All the expense was worth it though, look how much fun we had!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love the Laff girls!

Wildlights

Our first Christmas activity of the year was going to see the Columbus Zoo Wildlights with the Jones boys. They were so impressive!! Rebekah loved going around pointing at them all, and hanging out with her Godfather. Bethany wasn't happy until we got to see some elephants!

Bowling

Bethany went bowling for the first time over Thanksgiving week. She really enjoyed "catching" the balls when they came up, seeing the numbers pop up on the screen, and pushing the reset button. Bowling, however, she could take or leave.

Quote of the Day

Mommy: (to Daddy) We really need to start watching what we're spending.
Bethany: You can just go to work and get more money. (She pauses while we laugh.) When you run out, I mean.

Can you tell that she's the daughter of an accountant? She has so much financial sense already!

Silliness

Hello, Mr. Turkey

Bethany learned this song in Preschool. She was serenading us for quite a bit of our trip home from Columbus yesterday. I loved it!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

We celebrated Grandma's birthday with a fantastic dinner and yummy ice cream cake. And a very funny Bekah story I just have to share.

We gave both the girls a little sliver of cake. Bekah wolfed hers down. Bethany, on the other hand, ate half, and then walked away to do something else for a minute. So, Rebekah grabbed Bethany's bowl, put her cake and her own bowl, and then put Bethany's bowl back. Bethany came back and got upset that her cake was gone, so Rebekah ever so nicely gave her half of her cake back.

Did you know that Rebekah means devious?

Ariel and her Sister

Bet you never would've guessed that Bethany was Ariel for Halloween this year. We got Rebekah the same costume, but Bethany insisted that she's "Ariel's sister." Bekah was not a fan of being a mermaid. Bethany, of course, LOVED it.

A couple random pictures from our last trip to Papa and Grandma's.

Pumpkin Carving

My girls actually got into the goop pumpkin carving this year! They had a blast, but strangely enough, we never took a picture of the final product.

Griffis Sculpture Park

It was our first time to Griffis Sculpture Park, and it was well worth it! It was a little muddy, which inspired the toddlers' theme of the day - "I don't know about this!", but we had so much fun exploring and just being outdoors. I love that the weather this week is so gorgeous!

Party Day

Happy birthday to Jonas!!! We had lots of fun "monkeying" around at your party! Curious George is way cooler than old dinosaurs!

Raking

We finally have a rake!

Beautiful Rebekah

I know I've said it many times before, but you seriously can't help but smile when Rebekah grins at you. Here are few random Bekah pictures from the past week or so.

Car Serenading

Last weekend we went to see Matthew's cousin, Emily, get married! It was a gorgeous wedding, and Bethany's been talking about get married ever since. Hopefully not for a few more years!! Here's the girls serenading us on our way back home.

First House Project

Bethany and I are slowly working on our first house project! We're trying to get all the wallpaper out of the bathroom, which is turning out to be a lot more time consuming than we imagined. Then a nice coat of paint, and our bathroom might look somewhat presentable!

Cars

Rebekah thinks these slippers are very cool to wear around the house!

Ariel Bedroom

Tonight was our second attempt at an Ariel border in Bethany's room. Our first attempt involved stickers - not the best idea we've ever had. Now we went for good store-bought border, and it looks fantastic. Bethany is SO excited.

Daddy's Girl

Rebekah loves her daddy...

Quote of the Day

Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike are leaving tomorrow morning to go on a cruise. Bethany said to A. Mary, "you're going on a big boat to see all the animals?!" I'm pretty sure she thinks they're taking a vacation on Noah's Ark.

Go, Buckeyes!

Bethany and Rebekah went to their first annual skull session this weekend. Poor Rebekah was terrified of the bus, but she braved it all right. They both enjoyed the music, and got into the cheering. Go, Buckeyes!! (And Go, Bills!! who are about to beat New England!)

1st Day of School!

Bethany and Jonas started 3-year-old preschool last week. Bethany thinks she's very cool, and LOVES it. What a little princess she is.

Our House

The long lapse in blogging has been due to several things. Mostly, our new house (and lack of internet in that house)!! Not enough unpacking has been done, but we've sure been enjoying it! Also - Matt and I are soon to have baby #3! The new arrival is going to be early March. We can't wait!

The Falls!

The kids loved seeing Niagara Falls this week. They even took a ride on the Maid of the Mist! Bethany and Rebekah hung out in the middle of the boat, where they could stay nice and dry, but that didn't stop Bethany from loving it!

Zoo Day

The Past Couple Weeks

Lots of smiles! Not a lot of pictures...
